Our bags are made with aniline leather, a "naked" finish with no waxes or shiny polishes, with the most lusciously buttery soft hand that only gets better with use. The leather also adds durability and helps keep the white textile clean. We also use a stain repellent on the fabric to help keep it clean.

This beautiful white and black modern tribal patterned mudcloth is 100% handcrafted and plant-based, from the fibers to the handprinted dyes. Mudcloth is made in West Africa where artisans have been perfecting their craft for centuries. It’s a thick, textured cotton with a rustic look and feel, and imperfections that add to its beauty.

Mudcloth is a rustic yet delicate textile. We will use a stain repellent on the fabric of your bag before sending it to you (but if you'd rather we don't, please add a note with your order to let us know). We recommended reapplying stain repellent occasionally to help keep the fabric clean. Dry cleaning is best if the bag needs deep cleaning. For spot cleaning, use a gentle soap, warm water, and a light touch to prevent the natural dyes from bleeding. If fabric pilling occurs with time and wear, use a fabric shaver to remove them. Leather balm may be used to add suppleness to the leather as needed.
